sneezing the next day
Re: sneezing the next day
Probably nasal irritation. Try some saline mist to calm the tissues down and hydrate them.
You can buy various brands of squeeze bottle or aerosolized saline solution at your local drug store. Just give a squirt or two in each nostril and sniff it in. I like the pure saline versions in the aerosol cans, some of the squeeze bottle stuff has a preservative that burns my nasal tissues.

Re: sneezing the next day
Dryness in your sinuses and you are rendered ultra-sensitive to pollen/hayfever?
When camping without my humidifier it has happened to me too - and antihistmes, allergy pills, nasal spray, etc.,. don't provide a complete cure for the annoying persistent streaming nose.
I don't know why dry CPAP air makes me so sensitive but no question that is the issue for me.
If you have a humidifier in your cpap, turn it up a notch. If you start to get water in the line, get a hose cover or sew one up - pretty easy to make out of a bit of fleece fabric as it is just a simple tube.
Good luck.

Re: sneezing the next day
I had this too when I first started c-pap. I felt like I had a very bad cold on waking up and it lasted most of the day. By evening I was better, only to start again the next day. For me, it was not enough moisture and the nasal pillows were drying me out. I couldn't figure out how I was so dry, but was blowing my nose and sneezing for most of the day. If i'm dry, where is all this liquid coming from? I turned up the humidity and changed to a nasel mask and it all stopped. It takes time to work all this out, your a step ahead just by being on this forum.
Just keep asking questions. Someone will have the right answer for you.

Re: sneezing the next day
I also from time to time have sneezing fits. FITS. For fifteen minutes until the body naturally generates moisture in my sinus cavities (snot) and it settles things down. I find that if I at least fill my humidifier up with water and allow the air to blow over it the problem is reduced. If I turn on the humidifier heat I never seem to have the issue and in addition, during allergy season seem to find that my nose does not plug up. Ditto if I have a bad code in by dose..... it keeps me somewhat open for air to get in and it keeps my lungs going without coughing all night (Crank it up as high as you can stand it). The heated humidifiers are marvellous items. I wish someone would come out with a humidifier that was NOT heat generated.... an atomizer or something. I actually like the humidity but hate the heat.
I can assure you that you are not alone. A dry sinus is going to likely give you a sneezing fit as soon as a speck of pollen lands inside and there is little or no mucus to protect the sinus and get rid of it. The mucus generated AFTER the fact is trying to flush something that is already stuck to your sinus wall.
Drives me squirrely when I have a meeting in the morning and a sneezing fit.

Fall colours. One of God's gifts. Life is fragile and short, savour every moment no matter what your problems may be. These stunning fall colours from my first outing after surviving a month on life support due to H1N1.
Re: sneezing the next day
Not to play devil's advocate or anything, but many of us get congested if the humidifier's too high, and turn it down to get cleared up. I know sneezing is different, but thought it worth the tip.
