Mask or tubing "crackling"?

Post by talktobon » Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:54 pm

Hi. My mask or tube just started crackling last night. I can't figure out where the noise is coming from. It happens if I breathe or move around. Any suggestions? I can't really describe it any better.

Probably a stupid question on my part, but have you checked for actual cracks in the mask or hose, especially right where the hose and rubber connection meet? Have you checked to make sure the anti-asphyxiation valve is working properly?

My husband uses the Quattro, so I'll take a look at it later and see if I can come up with some other possibility.

My tube makes noises when there is water in it. I have to disconnect and drain it out. I have this odd habit of turning on the humidifier when I am asleep, so I sometimes get water build up in there.

The Respronics performance tubing crackles a little bit, especially if bent. But if you are using that tubing, you should have observed this since day 1.
