Which song titles describe your sleep apnea experience

Post by Joe50 » Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:26 am

These are a few that have fit me during my sleep apnea journey.
1. "Asleep at the Wheel".
2. "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley but not Patsy Cline.
3. "I can't get no satisfaction"
4. "I'm gonna sleep with one eye open" by Dolly Parton.
5. " Zombie Woof" by Frank Zappa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03MGRRC ... re=related

Anyone else have songs that sort of describe their sleep apnea experience.

Running on empty - Jackson Browne

Did I just date myself?
As the moon hangs low in the sky, glowing eyes need a place to hide
The spell is cast in the candle flame, as the voice of sleep speaks his name
Cast the bones and incant the spell. Mispoken word eternal hell

Head under water and they tell me
To breathe easy for awhile
The breathing gets harder, even I know that

How 'bout - "I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead " before treatment; and "All Night Is All Right" for after treatment?

Without CPAP
Tossin' and Turning' (I Couldn't Sleep at all Last Night) - Bobby Lewis
And So It Goes - Billy Joel
Any Dream Will Do - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Bad is Bad - Huey Lews and the News
Don't Cry - Guns 'n Roses
Dreaming With my eyes Open - Clay Walker

With CPAP
Sweet Dreams are Made of These - Eurthymics
All Night Long - Lionel Richie
Take my Breath Away - Top Gun soundtrack
Awake and Alive - Skillet
Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream - Simon and Garfunkel
Awake - Godsmack
Drift Off to Dream - Travis Tritt

I could go on. As you can tell, I've dived into my iTunes file. I'm up to D... I'll stop though. (some of these are not from my iTunes, though)
Comfort and Joy - Christmas Carol
Deep Enough to Dream - Chris Rice

I DJed for a bit after our older daughter was born (she'll be 10 this year). Rather than get a sitter, the owners of the dance hall I worked at welcomed (free) me bringing my wife to listen and dance as well as for us to bring the "critter carrier". Generally around 8:15, I'd toss in my "bathroom break" tape for about 15 minutes. Some fast stuff, but Tritt was on there. And my wife would have the monkey in her PJs and I'd do my thing and get out on the dance floor and waltz with the previously-mentioned monkey.

Cool memories. I associate most memories (good and bad) with whatever music I was listening to at the time.

Of course, I like Tritt's other stuff like TROUBLE and his cover of Desperado.

That sounds very sweet I also like "Here's a Quarter" although you never hear it anymore because it no longer applies

Just a few that come to mind........

Pre-therapy:

"You Shook Me All Night Long" - AC-DC (when I quit breathing)

Since therapy:

"The Air That I Breathe" - Hollies

"Got Me Under Pressure" - ZZ Top

"It's Magic" - ELO

"What a Difference You've Made" - Ronnie Milsap

"I'm Alright" - Kenny Loggins

"Peaceful, Easy Feeling" - Eagles

For the times when this therapy seems like a PITA......

"Get Over It" - Eagles

"The Way Life's Meant to Be" - ELO

If you forget your machine or an essential part and have to go without for one or more nights:

"Nights Are Forever Without You" - England Dan and John Ford Coley.

For the nights when you're struggling with your hose:

"Tube Snake Boogie"

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow
