S9 Humidifer Question
I have had my S9 with the Hi5 humidifier and currently it is set to auto, however, I am still waking up with what I call Sahara Desert mouth every morning. Would setting it to not auto help with this you think? Currently it is on auto and shows 82 degrees on the screen.

Re: S9 Humidifer Question
Are you using the Climateline heated hose? I believe the auto setting only works with that hose.

Re: S9 Humidifer Question
My experience with the H5i is that finding the best setting will depend on your room temperature and humidity. I have a little thermometer/hygrometer that sits on my bedside table.
When I was in AZ, the temperature was 75-77 F., humidity 20-23%. I used Auto Setting, with temperature setting at 75.
In WA where I am now, the temperature is 68-70, humidity 40-45%. Auto Setting did not work as well, and the water usage dropped from 8 ounces to 6 per night. I have read on the forum that the Auto default humidity of 80% shuts off, if the room humidity is 45%. I had to experiment to find the ideal Manual Setting, where I didn't get rain out or a "hot head", or a dry mouth. 4.5 + 74 degrees is just right, but I will have to adjust as it gets warmer and dryer here.
Also, I found that when I was taking Zyrtec for allergies, my dry mouth was worse. Other meds may have the same affect.

Re: S9 Humidifer Question
6 or 8 ounces per night? I've had my machine for a week, today, and the water level has just barely dropped enough to notice. I would guess less than 1 ounce per night. I always start 'warmimg up' every night. I don't have a problem with dry mouth, so I guess it's okay, but I expected to be able to see that water level drop. It almost seems like it's not even working.
Re: S9 Humidifer Question
Can someone explain how the auto feature works on that system please. I have a Respironics PR1 which has a manual setting, probably like many others.
Does anyone know which humidifier system is best?
Thanks
