Stuck on EncorePro 2.2 opening screen

Post by ziggytosh » Thu Jun 10, 2010 3:57 am

Can someone please help me get unstuck?

I just got EncorePro 2.2 installed in XP running on VMWare. The installation seemed to go fine. But when I open up the application, I just can't get anything much to happen. It appears that some menus and tabs must be missing. For example, the "Help" documentation says an Admin can create patient records, import data, etc. by clicking on the "Patient" tab. I'm logged in as EncoreAdmin, but I don't see any such tab. I don't see any tabs at all. I just have one screen where the only things I can actually do are search for patients (there are none), access Help (which hasn't helped much so far) or verify that there is data on my SD card via utilities (though I can't actually access the data). Help refers to other functions, such as adding company information, but I can see no way to do anything, anything at all, from the screen I have available.

I'm frustrated and dumb. Can someone smart please help? I've got EncorePro 2.2 open. How do I get it to do anything?

I think I can see a possible solution. Would anyone on the board who has run EncorePro 2.0+ be willing to send me a .EXP file. This is apparently the file that EncorePro creates and it can be transferred. You could strip out most of the data so I don't know how many RERAs you get or whatever.

The way I've got EncorePro running now, I just don't have the option to create a new patient. But I could import one from a .EXP file. And I think if I were able to just get a patient entered into the stupid thing, I would then be able to import raw data from my SD card and associate it with the imported patient. In this way, I'd be able to get my data into EncorePro and have a chance to analyze it. Anyway, if you can export a .EXP file from your version of EncorePro, and you'd be willing to send it to me, please PM me and we can exchange emails.

I'm just going to quickly describe the solution for the benefit of future keyword searchers ...

As another user pointed out to me, EncorePro is meant to be displayed on a monitor with resolution 1024 x 768 or higher. I'm running it on a tiny netbook with resolution 1024 x 600. Essentially, most of the action tabs were hidden in the areas of the screen that I couldn't see or access.

The workaround - simple enough since I was already running it on a virtual machine - was to change the monitor settings. Since my screen just physically is still tiny, that meant a lot of scrollbars, which was annoying, but EncorePro is annoying anyway. Seems to me the best feature of the program is that you can export data to PDF where it can be read and analyzed much more conveniently.

I will definitely be purchasing EncoreViewer instead, but my mailing situation is as complicated as my monitor situation, so I need something in the meantime and this will (barely) accomplish the purpose.
