Ureka!! moment HELP!!!!
I firmly believe that I have come up with an idea for a product and proceedure that will revolutionize ALL sleep apnea treatment!
no more masks
No more facial discomfort
No more machines
No more surgery
I am not joking, I am certain that this has the potential to instantly
Wipe out sleep apnea in virtually all cases.
Allow for a simple, low cost, buy it,try it, and prove a diagnosis yourself, without the need for expensive specialist evaluation or study
Augment and advance the treatment for a variety of nasal and breathing problems.
Because of its ground breaking design it will almost certainly have other medical applications.
How to proceed from here in order to make a little money while ridding the world of sleep apnea??
On a humane level I feel like just letting the cat out of the bag and let it get done asap by whoever gets there first.
But...
What would you want to receive?
what would be fair?
How would you go about it?
This product WILL happen.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just let it out of the bag and do us all a favor. For one thing, it's highly unlikely (nothing personal!!) that your idea is that revolutionary - you wouldn't believe some of the things people have thought of - and it would be a shame if you spent lots of loot on a prototype and/or patent, only to find out it's either been done, or that there's some intrinsic reason, medical or mechanical, why it won't work. Most people here are too old and/or tired to care about ripping off your idea, and if you can help someone, go for it. In any case, you can still pursue the details on your own, but what is the concept?
Have you designed other things? Made money on them?

Re: Ureka!! moment HELP!!!!
Have you tried it on yourself? Have you eliminated your OSA? Many things look good on paper, but, in fact they don't work.

Julie makes a very good point.Julie wrote:it would be a shame if you spent lots of loot on a prototype and/or patent, only to find out it's either been done, or that there's some intrinsic reason, medical or mechanical, why it won't work.
deadhead77, if it were me, I'd run the idea privately past several people on this board I knew I could trust to offer knowledgable, constructive criticism and not be the least inclined to "steal" the idea. I can think of many, MANY, on this board I'd trust on both counts. Rather than start listing the many I trust and consider extremely knowledgable, I'll mention these two off the top of my head:
-SWS
ozij
If I were you, I'd PM one or both of them and see if either of them would be willing to comment privately to you about your idea.

deadhead....
My father invented something a very long time ago.. ..
he did it by spending a long time researching..
he didnt give up...
and lot of people didnt think what he wanted to do was possible either..
He started a company..
YOU just never know, unless you try.

You shouldn't come in here creating false hope in people before you have a prototype. You also shouldn't say things like I might just give it away. If you have something get it made and quit teasing.deadhead77 wrote:Thanks for the various input guys, sleep tight.

As you rightly said, elena, a "Eureka" moment is hard to contain.
There's no harm in deadhead's post that I can see.

Well, since the idea is Deadhead's, and Jerry Garcia used a coffin to get over his sleep apnea, I suspect you are onto something. It is a coffin, right?
