Post by steph40 » Wed Jun 02, 2010 2:30 pm

Have a couple of question, my husband is being the process of getting his sleep study, how can i help him get the RIGHT machanie for him? i have sleep apena i have my cpap machanie and he can't belive the differnece, anyway. my does not have the data information that you can get with the new machanie. and how can i get the doctor to prescribe the one not a just cheap one that insurance want to get. because i did not know at the time there where differnt one, i got my cpap 4 years ago. i have consider getting a one with data read out, and make my insurance pay for it, because my spouse company switch insurance so i am going to try to get me new one as well. Also i want to purhcase a pulse oximeter which one is good one, and what website or where to get one? Also would suggest that i have another sleep test since it has been 4 year ago,my sleep test. i feel fine, but i want to make sure that i am getting enough pressure. my pressure is 10.

Most insurance companies will only replace your machine after five years -- and there are various reports that changing insurance companies won't always guarantee a new machine.

Have your doctor write a specific machine on the rx (one that is data capable) for hubby. There are numerous threads that have details about what to write on the script. Do a search and see what you come up with.

If your husband gets a machine that collects full data, and aquires the software to read the data, you won't need a sleep study, you can use his machine to find the info you need. Jim

I went thru that with my insurance when my old tank quit. I ended up getting new sleep study.

If you have your script in hand you can buy online, when you use INS. you are forced to jump thru their hoops. I don't jump much anymore. Jim
