ResScan 3.10 & S9 AutoSet summary data - RESOLVED

Post by fisamo » Tue May 25, 2010 9:15 pm

I've seen threads here about people getting summary data, but not detailed data. The response to those threads has been advice to check download settings, because the default settings have the software user downloading summary data only.

I have the opposite problem. I have set the software to download all data from the device, and I get the detailed data, but no summary data. If you look at the browser window, it indicates that there is no summary data available. If you set the software to download only summary data, it comes back saying 'no data'. Is there a device setting that I need to reset, or is there something I'm doing that prevents the device from writing summary data? I leave the machine plugged in all the time, but I turn it 'off' (by holding the power button for 3 sec) after I view the previous night's stats on the screen in the morning. Should I leave it 'on'? (Is there any advantage to turning it off? Even if off, the device powers up when I press the power switch (don't have to hold it down, like for 3 sec, when turning it back on)...

Here's what my screen looks like - the Browser window shows that only detailed data is available. Any suggestions as to how I can make summary data available? Thanks...

EDIT: Resolved - see later post in the thread...

There are tabs along the top of the rescan window, usually you click the one to the furthest left for the summary, and the next tab along shows you the detailed info.
Have you tried that?

Yep--I should have mentioned in my post above--those screens are blank.

This is a bit of a long shot...... physically unplug the S9 power supply from the wall power outlet and let it sit for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect the power at the wall outlet and then see if you get Summary data on the next download.

Cheers,

Bill

Problem fixed. How, exactly, I'm not sure, but it's fixed.

I was messing with the "device settings" option in ResScan, allowing it to delete the existing data on the card. (I had copied it to another location.) I tried copying the data back, but when I put the card back in my device, the device made me either remove the card or wipe it clean. So, I allowed my S9 to format the card again (since I had downloaded the data into ResScan anyway).

Today, I tried a download into a "No patient selected" slot, and I saw both summary and detailed data. However, I tried downloading again to my patient file, and I saw detailed data only (again) In the end, I created a new patient profile for myself, and it downloaded the summary data since Day 1 and the detailed data from last night (previous detailed data having been erased from my messing around above).

So, at a minimum, I needed to create a new patient profile in ResScan. I don't know if formatting the SD card was necessary, but I suspect it helped.

Weird! But glad the situation has been remedied.

Wish there were tools to correct the .db files. I had a crash and lost my data (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=52532&p=485042#p485042) and got a partial recovery as follows:
a) created a new patient
b) copied the .rlk daily detailed files over to this directory
c) copied the summary.dat (wasn't worrupted) also over

But the .db files (pateint name, notes) are corrupted. I created a new patient file, and shall manually recover notes from the corrupted .db by cutting and pasting text visible when I open the .db inside an editor.
