How do you put an O Ring on LT pillow?

Post by araminta » Wed May 26, 2010 2:26 pm

OK, folks, I must win the klutz award.
What's the special super duper secret to put the o ring on a swift LT pillow?
I see the final picture of it on the pillow, but don't get the process.
Thanks.

Kind of squish up the pillow (the part that goes against your nostril!) and push it through. That's all you have to do.

That's what I started to do -- but it seemed like it would be kinda rough on the pillow to force it thru that itty bitty o ring.
If folks are doing it, then I'll give it a try. Besides, the material is already compromised.

It might be gentler (and easier) if you do it when washing the pillows with soap.

Okay. This is a really dumb question and apparently haven't read an earlier post about this but what is the point to an "O" ring on a nasal pillow??

Hey Shawnee,

There ain't no dumb questions on this forum!

The o-ring is s'posed to add extra structure to the pillows which tend to all-too-quickly get soft. But I still haven't figured out how to put them on...

Araminta,

You do have to be a little rough to squeeze and pinch the nostril part of the nasal pillow to get it in the O-ring. It's a bit fiddly, but not terribly difficult.

Are you using the correct size of O-ring? The diameter of the ring should be roughly equal to the diameter of the neck of the nasal pillow. If you look on the lab rat page, someone has given sizes for each size of nasal pillow. My blog has the correct size for the small Swift LT pillow.

For the small size nasal pillows I use 'o' ring size - 2mm x 14mm
