Whats the worst that could happen? [Doctor/DME reactions]

Every year I prepare a concise report from my Encore Viewer files to show my doc, (and it always shows conclusively that my optimization of my pressure range leads to a nice, low AHI). He loves the report, and has no issue with me making prudent modifications to my set-up.

Soooooo........what does he do for you to earn however much he's charging for your visit(s)?

I find it hard to comprehend that the doctor gets to charge YOU for the information YOU'RE giving THEM.

But, then, I avoid doctors unless I absolutely need them.

My RT didn't tell me to switch my machine to aPap... I promise... He didn't point out that my script was for cPap at 15 cm, but that the machine they gave me was an aPap... Nope. He didn't. He also didn't leave the clinical manual in the bag...

My doctor did notice the difference, however, and after seeing and comparing the numbers was quite pleased, and mentioned that my RT was very good at his job. No new script was written... It was simply a matter of leaving well enough alone...

For me I have had a good reaction. I called my doctor to request switching to an APAP since I was still with in my first month on CPAP. The nurse was pleased at how much I knew about my machine and the other machines on the market, and she was impressed that I had the software to download my data myself. She said she loves patients like me. When writing the new script the nurse said, what pressure are you on right now, I said 8. She said I will order the apap for 6-10, but if that does not work let us know so we can fix it, then she caught herself and and said, nah you can adjust it yourself, just let us know at your next appt what pressure it is using the most.

I like, another person said, could not be dragged away from my sleep clinic by wild horses.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. The doctor must love it when you do all the work for them. They would be crazy to get upset with you.
