Forum SW malfunctionning more

Post by BigNortherner » Wed May 19, 2010 11:03 am

I cannot post a new topic - it dumps me to requiring login AGAIN.

Yesterday I couldn't even read my own posts, same problem, today that works at least.

Also I couldn't edit a post, trying to select a URL to make it a URL functionally the display kept zipping up and down.

The display zipping up and down when I attempt to write happened to when I surfed the forum on with IE 8.0. Clicking the compatibility button (next to the refresh) solved that problem for me.

The forum is running normal, odd's are it in your computer. Dump cookies and temp files, general cleanup. I use Window Washer, 4 times daily, squeeky clean. Jim

I also use Mozilla Firefox, better browzers give better results.

The thing where it jumps up when typing in the box is an IE problem. Use firefox or chrome to get past that. (or even safari or opera)

As far as not keeping you logged in, its a cookie problem. check to make sure you have not accidentally blocked cookies from cpaptalk.com. You may even want to add cpaptalk.com to your white list of allowed sites.

I am getting a problem quite often that may be on the server side. Sometimes if I preview a post that I am writing **someone else's text including what they quoted is in there** instead of any of my text. I may even see their sig. Next time it happens I will capture a screen shot.

Isn't happening at the moment, so I wonder if it is load based or number simultaneous users.

OS is OSX 10.6.3 with Safari 4.0.5

Jumping up and down can be avoided by not trying to make long posts.

Cleaning out cookies is a good idea, however you should not be using them, they are a security risk - and are not as straightforward as you may assume. Note too that the View own posts problem disappeared on its own.

I have a policy of not changing my computer for optional web sites.
