sliding backwards
Been on machine almost 6 weeks and feel like I'm going back to pre machine. The first 2 weeks seemed like I was getting somewhere. I used to wake up every 2 hrs or less, with 2-3 bathroom visits. My sleep study had ahi was 27 on my side 59 on my back. First 2 weeks my ahi was a 1.5 but was sleeping 3 and sometimes 4 hrs at a stretch which I never did. I changed my pressure from 12 to 13 because I started snoring again. Now its 6 weeks, the most I sleep is 2hrs before waking. My vib. snore is averaging between 8 to 15 and I think this is what is waking me up. My question is can your body adapt to the machine and learn to snore against the pressure. I was thinking about raising the pressure to 15 and see. My ahi nubers are great at .3 to .5.
Re: sliding backwards
I wish i had your numbers you are doing pretty well with those. That seems like quite a jump in pressure to address snoring. Perhaps incremental increases may give you a better idea on how much pressure you really need?

Re: sliding backwards
I would "kill" for those AHI numbers and my VSI (Vibratory Snore Index) is some times 100+
From what I read on here though, the VSI is not used by all equipment vendors (I seem to recall someone stated that only Respironics reports it).
If I were you and I was going to change pressure, I would do it in "increments" (maybe 0.5 cm steps). I would also be on guard for Aerophagia if you increase the pressure.
Good luck,
Dave

Re: sliding backwards
I just don't feel as well as when I started. These are the summary numbers for last night:
CA: .1 Average Leak 46
OA: 0.0 % of night in large leak 0.0%
H: .5 1.2% of night in PB
FL: 00
VS: 23.7
RE: 1.0
AHI: .6
CA: .1 Average Leak 46
OA: 0.0 % of night in large leak 0.0%
H: .5 1.2% of night in PB
FL: 00
VS: 23.7
RE: 1.0
AHI: .6
Re: sliding backwards
If you go into company settings and change preferences to report "unintentional leak" your leak rate will be more informative. This way it subtracts out the baseline leak that is part of every mask. It will make the detailed report which is part of the patients therapy data take longer to produce. But the "unintentional leak" is far more revealing than "total leak"

Re: sliding backwards
Changed setting now gives average leak of 15.9
Re: sliding backwards
I don't know whether that is good or bad for a full face mask. For my mask, my high is 10 and I average about 4.
