Swift FX mask opinions

Post by Lou Cypher » Fri Apr 30, 2010 3:48 pm

So I got the FX... really neat, small, lightweight and now the ability to roll over on my side during night....

Only one thing I can't figure out ( and it's a deal breaker for me )

For some reason my throat gets all dried out like I am not using a humidifier......

I woke up once, took a drink of water and went back to sleep, woke up again with dry throat and gave up. I had my swift II laying on the night stand just in case, I put it on and slept the rest of the night through without dry throat...

Anyone else experience this ????

Any ideas ??

I really like the FX and would like to make it my main mask.

You can sign me,

Dry and Dejected in sleep land.....

Check to see if the inside pillow hasn't accidently gotten inverted, The Swift FX has what looks like a double pillow system.

You might try is to wash the pillows before sleeping with the mask again as there may be some residue on them from either the packaging or the manufacturing.

I don't beieve it was inverted but I didn't wash them, just took it out of the package and used it..

Good point, Thanks....

Only other thing I can think of is that you might be opening your mouth while asleep which will definately cause dry mouth.

Mouth breathing is one culprit, try a chin strap. The other idea is to turn up your humidifier, sometimes different masks have different humidifier needs.

Been on cpap for 12 years and haven't been a mouth breather yet, so maybe not that....

I didn't think different mask have different humidifier needs that is why I didn't even bother to give it a try....

OK... of for trying new things....I'll let ya know.

I've had a lot of problems with the inverted pillow thing. I have them invert while I was wearing it. For me when one of the pillows inverts I get lots of leaks.
