Cpap.com service

Post by lightsleepernomore » Fri Apr 30, 2010 7:13 pm

Hi I'm new here. Just got prescribed a cpap last week. I ordered a resmed s9 on Tuesday from cpap.com order says still processing. I called Thursday and Friday they said they would call my doctor that day for prescription both times. I gave them the no. I called my doctor at PM today and they still have not heard from them. Should I wait or order some where else.

Have you tried uploading the prescription to cpap.com on your own? That's what I did. Confirmation that the Rx was received took a few minutes, if I remember correctly.

Even you don't know how to scan and upload your Rx, you should make sure you have you own Rx in your onw hands - so you will never have to depend on the doctor's office for it.

this is your first lesson in becoming your own health care advocate. If you don't have the prescription in hand, go to the office or have it faxed to you, and immediately get it to cpap.com.........you'll be amazed how fast the product will arrive. Physician offices reply faster to their own patients than the outside world. If you go anywhere else, you'll have the same problem at least, and probably worse..........you're working with an excellent vendor--who just needs your prescription to be legal.

It pays to get your "Ducks in a Row", You need a script to buy XPAP stuff. If you are worried about time, why leave it to others to do your footwork. If you have ever dealt with a third party (ie Dr. office) even be a patient it's difficult to get what you want, Playing phone tag with one as a long distance provider is even worse. Could be the Dr has a interest in a local sale of equiptment, or maybe they are busy and have their own way of doing things, that's why you take care of your own needs, yourself. Jim

Make sure you get all the needed info on the script, so you can get whatever you want, and that goes for masks too. jim

The script will have the pressure(s) on it and cpap.com will set it up (according to the script) before they send it. But there is certainly more than enuff help here.

You are caught in an all to common game between the docs, sleep centers, and DME's that is somewhere between no communication and out right lies. I know when I was trying to get an appt. at my sleep center - the doc said they faxed it the sleep center said they are still waiting for it. This went back 'n forth many times.

cpap.com is reputable and you are doing this the right way.

As said - it is best to get a copy of your sleep study reports AND prescription - in YOUR HAND.

Remember - IF it is to be, it IS up to ME.

My sleep doctor just sent out a letter to both me and my husband (both of us cpapers now!) reminding us to tell our doctors/medical professionals/surgeons that we are on cpap - if we have to go into the hospital - what to do and enclosing a copy of our prescriptions. I then scanned them and e-mailed them into cpap.com and the auction so that if ever I wanted to order anything, it's on file. They have already acknowledged receipt of the prescriptions. So, I think it's best that you get your prescription from your doctor in hand and then e-mail or fax it yourself to cpap.com.

Regards,

Jersey Girl
