I'd say that your smart move is to get the software......and whatever card reader is needed for it (ask CPAP.com about this).....then, tell the DME or doctor that you want the phone modem removed....so that you can use your software.
Boiled out, I suspect that the only purpose for the phone modem is to prove compliance......so that they can get paid by your insurance company. They only want to see about 4-hours per night of use so that they can get their bucks. Tell them that you'll give them copies of your reports to prove compliance. That should satisfy them.
To get the best therapy, you have to do it yourself. As you learn more....and closely observe your "health providers", you'll see the picture more clearly. Most of the time, it's simply "slam, bam, thank-you"...slopped out, low quality, go-thru-the-motions, and get the money.
You want better than that.

Re: Newbie Needs Advice...
The SD card should be underneath the modem. Near the top of the modem are two pushbuttons on the sides. Push both of them and pull back. Near the top of where the modem was should be the SD card. Push it in and it will spring out more so you can grab it and pull it the rest of the way out. Thanks.

Re: Newbie Needs Advice...
Thanks for the information. I pulled the modem, looked at the empty SD slot and realized what the RT said, "I have to use either the modem or the SD card." Will the machine function with both? Or did the DME only want to supply one or the other. If the machine will use both, is it a special SD card? Or will any card work. Thanks!Redeye wrote:The SD card should be underneath the modem. Re: Newbie Needs Advice...
My machine has both the modem and SD card. The machine seems happy with both of them. I pulled out the sd card two days after the modem was installed and tested (the modem). The modem made the dial attempt and appeared to connect, while the sd card was in the machine. The sd card was used sucessfully (2 days after the modem was installed) in EncoreViewer 2.0. The next question might be is whether the machine needs a custom sd card purchased from the DME, or if any generic sd card can be used. I'm sorry that I don't know the answer. Thanks.

Thanks Redeye, I will certainly give it a try and I did read somewhere else that a standard SD card would work...we'll see.Redeye wrote:My machine has both the modem and SD card.
