I've just been woken up *again* by water dripping down my face. And now the headgear is wet also - not comfortable to wear it that way. When I turn the humidifier down I get woken up because the outside of my nose itches and wakes me up. So the suggestion I found for that was to turn the humidifier up, but then I get the water on my face waking me up.
I clearly need to get the Sleep Zone heated hose and I'm just wondering if anyone has even gotten insurance to pay for the Sleep Zone hose. If not, I'm just going to order it. If there's a chance that they'll pay for it then when I see my doctor in a week I'll see if I can get her to write me a prescription for it and order it them. But even with the prescription, the DME doesn't carry it, and I'd have to buy it online and try to get the insurance to reimburse me (which one person there told me they couldn't do unless I am a medical professional, but I find that the people who answer the phone at the insurance company don't always know what they are talking about). I don't want to order it before I get the prescription in case that hurts my chances that the date of purchase is earlier than the date of the prescription. Normally, I wouldn't hesitate to order something like this, but I think that when all the claims have been filed I'll have spent between $800-$1,000 on CPAP stuff this year and my new deductible period begins in July, so from then on everything else will be out-of-pocket anyways since my deductible is $600 and I won't get that high unless it's a year I"m getting a new machine. So I want to try and get whatever I need before then from my insurance before then because they won't be paying anything after that anyways.
Sorry I'm rambling, but I'm sleep deprived, and so mad that they make this so hard to figure out and so costly. Now I know why most people just give up on CPAP. If I hadn't found this message board I would have given up by now for sure. This is such a pain and I still haven't seen the benefits yet (which I know I need to wait for, but I'm getting impatient).
Thanks for any answers.
