I have a couple of questions about the Respironics system 1 prop apap"
1. My sleep data shows that there are times that large leaks occur, but the alarm never goes off. I've set the machine for mask alert on, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions to make the alarm go off when it detects leaks?
2. When I look at the data, it has the times in GMT *(Greenwich Mean Time, or about 4AM instead of 11 PM. I'd like it to reflect local (EST) times in my data. There is a setting in the clinical menu for GMT adjustment. Has anyone changed the time to local. If so, How?
Thanks

Re: questions about System 1
I changed the time - but - I did so thru the EncorePro 2.2 software so I can't advise you how to do so via the clinicians menu IF it is even possible to do so thru the LED screen menu.
I don't use any of the alert alarm features so I'm not going to be of any help to you.

Re: questions about System 1
1. might be the full face mask. With the FF - the Large Leak warning might not work\
2. it depends on the Sys 1 firmware version
Up until a certain firmware version - there is GMT menu in the clinician's menu
Aftre a certain Firmware version - the GMT menu is not there. But if you have the Encore pro software, you can change the GMT setting to your local time by just changing GMT+0 to GMT-8 ( for example, for PST)

Re: questions about System 1
I've tries nasal masks and pillows as well as the full face mask. Some have leaked rather badly, but the alarm has never gone off.
Re: questions about System 1
You might try removing the the mask and see if the alarm sounds. I do not believe a typical leak will trigger the alarm.
God Bless..
Re: questions about System 1
After about 30 seconds with mask removed, there is a tepid little beep every second or so. If you have auto-off set, it will turn off after about 20 beeps.
I use auto-on and auto-off. That way when I have to get up in the night, I just let it turn ifself off if I am not back in time. Then when I have the mask back on, it just turns itself back on.

Re: questions about System 1
My wife has a resmed elite 1 S8 CPAP. Her machine easily detects leaks and the alarm goes off, I think that feature is useful, especially if masks shift around during the night and begin to leak.
Re: questions about System 1
If you check the YouTube Channel for CPAP Choice, "Pappy" has a whole set of videos on the PR S1. I think in the overview he says that the alarm is so quiet it wouldn't wake anyone because it's so low.
I don't believe the alarm and leak detection actually work. I had my machine set with the "auto off" in the off position, leak alarm on, and I was using the airflow to dry a mask. It shut itself off automatically, didn't beep, and didn't show a leak (though I understand it may be able to distinguish between a real leak and just being left on).
I've had some big leaks at night that never show in the readout, but the sound of the rushing air is enough to wake me. Little leaks, however, don't seem to get noticed by the machine. I'm wondering if they will show up in the software.
