Circles Under Eyes

Post by judyhorowitz@aol.com » Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:05 am

I feel like I'm developing dark puffy circles under my eyes. Does this have anything to do with the cpap treatment?

I get them when I lay on my belly in the 'Falcon' position.

Maybe it has something to do with masks straps cutting off circulation to... what? Lymph system? Tear ducts? I'm not sure.

I have really bad puffy eyes in the morning now, also, since I started on cpap. I got a smaller mask thinking that would help because the larger mask seemed to be hitting my eyes too much. Still have puffy eyes. They get better by the end of the day, but bright and early in the morning, there they are again. Maybe I should duct tape cucumbers over my eyes at night... . Oh--I usually sleep on my side...Don't know anything about any Falcons.

I had the opposite reaction. My eyes are less puffy and the darkness has gone away now that I am getting more/better sleep.

Maybe DreamDiver is on the right track and it depends where the mask hits the face and how tight it is?

My personal experience: I got those dark circles under my eyes when using UM Nasal and Activa - those nasal mask

When I switch to Nasal Pillow mask, those dark circles are no more there.

You might want to try this tip whether this is applicable to you

I'm using the Ultra Mirage FF mask. Never sleep on my stomach. Either back or side.

I've been using my machine for 4 nites and have also noticed that my dark circles are disappearing. No puffiness, thankfully. I'm very happy that I will no longer look sleep deprived.
