They're the DME I'm forced to deal with.
I've been waiting for my Vpap AUTO & mask from them since March 16th! To start with, I had to FIGHT them to get the mask I wanted (Hans Rudolph) but won the fight and was told I'd get it no problem. First time they came out, they had neither the Vpap AUTO nor the mask. They brought a NON-AUTO bi-level and wanted me to accept that instead. NO WAY!!!! Not only that, but the HR mask wasn't listed as the mask I was to get! Two more days of fighting, and they finally say they're ordering my mask and it'll be delivered with my new Vpap.
I make an appointment for yesterday between 11am & 3pm, for them to deliver ALL my new equipment.
I get a call from "Bob" at 10am. He doesn't want to waste his time coming out to my house, and I don't blame him. They gave him a USED machine to give me! I've only met "Bob" once, when he came out to my house the first time, but he knows me well enough to know there is no way in HELL that I would ever accept a USED machine! NOT ONLY THAT.....they still didn't get my mask either!!!!!!!!
I know that the DME is trying to wear me down to a point where I'll accept a used machine and a cheap mask, but I WILL NEVER DO THAT!
"Bob" seems to be a decent guy. He said HE'S going to get his hands on a NEW Vpap auto for me and give me a call when he has it in his hands. He's also going to look into getting my mask for me. I'm giving him ONE WEEK to get me ALL my equipment before I start filing complaints with EVERYBODY I can think of!!!!!
To everyone reading this, STAY AWAY FROM: LANDAUER METROPOLITIAN INC.!!! They're the world's WORST DME!!!!!!!

I don't pretend to know your individual circumstances, but, when I was finished with my sleep study, I was given 8 vendors to choose from ( I am on Medicare with supplemental TG!). Perhaps, you could check with your insurer and select another vendor? I am in the Chicago area an choices abound! Your mileage may vary.
Also, for what it's worth they (the provider) is motivated to give you the "cheapest" solution. I had a similar situation but my vendor brought out the newest model the next day after I complained.
You do have to be firm!

There are plenty of other DME's in my area, BUT, my insurance (1199 SEIU) will only deal with Landauer. They'll pay 100% with no deductable or out-of-pocket from me, so long as, I use Landauer. When you complain, make sure you complain to your union. If that's the only DME provider they contract with, they need to know what lousy service you are getting from them, so that when that contract comes up for renewal they might consider dropping them.
It's important to complain. You are educated and savvy about all this, but many individuals who need DME may not be and will be taken advantage of.

Sounds like a good deal, if you ever get the equipment you want. I should be getting what I asked for, but I have had to wait an extra two weeks because of it (and I still need to pay %30 of their inflated cost).
Big FYI though, if your going to throw around derogitory comments (well deserved or otherwise) remember to say that it is only your opinion. Otherwise they can sue you for defamation and libel (I.E. say that in your opinion they are the worst in the world, unless you can actually prove that claim).

I'm REALLY sorry to hear that your having such problems with Landauer Metropolitan. I've been dealing with them for a number of years and have to say that I have zero complaints thus far. In fact, quite the contrary. They're forever sending me automated voicemail messages reminding me that I'm eligible for replacement or new equipment.
Keep plugging away and, for G-d's sake, don't accept anything that isn't exactly what you ordered!

In fact, quite the contrary. They're forever sending me automated voicemail messages reminding me that I'm eligible for replacement or new equipment.

Don't know if it's worth it to you or not, but maybe you could get the used machine as a loaner till the new and correct machine comes in. You'd just have to be very careful what paperwork you sign. Have you been able to identify where the glitches are? If it could be pinpointed where the ball is being dropped, it couldn't hurt to request that they address their shortcomings by implementing training and procedures that reduce the liklihood of future such fiascos. Hope you're soon a delayed but finally happy camper.

From what I've seen, they have ~ZERO~ inter-office communication. Everytime I call them, they're friendly, and helpful, then transfer me to someone else, who is also friendly and helpful, who then transfers me to yet another person, and so on and so on. After 5 or 6 transfers, everything is "settled" and I wait at home for my stuff to get here. Problem is, it never gets here! Personally, I think they have too many people involved getting an order out. With my old DME, I dealt with only ONE person. They would address any and ALL concerns themselves. I think your experience may have been better because you seem to have a basic non-data capable machine and Komodo is fighting for what she knows she wants. When we started the DME brought us an M Series Plus and a ComfortGelFF but by first educating myself here I made her take it all back(she was not happy!) and in 2 days we had the M Series Auto/Aflex and the Quattro which was recommended here.
