1ST Time this happened ...

Post by CMorrison64 » Sat Apr 03, 2010 7:51 am

I know, here's another newbie with another question ... I have a full face mask and I thought that KEPT your mouth shut at night, well last night I guess my mouth was open in it all night as I woke up that way and have an extremely dry mouth .... I use Biotene ... but I was shocked my mouth was open like that.

A FFM is used to maintain the therapeutic pressure when you reflexively (or otherwise) open your mouth to breathe.

Here is a tip on Biotene that helped me - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47608

Nope. It simply lets you mouth-breathe without losing therapy air. There are a few FFMs on the market that are designed to cup the chin, and they can help to keep the mouth closed, but most FFMs simply cover the mouth. (My Hybrid has a chinflap, and I rarely mouth-breathe with it; but I can if I have to.)
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Just talked to the RT here at work and she said the same thing if it's a full face mask then I am OK. Thanks guys for the fast input.
