Day 20 Still some AHI events: Normal?
I'm having trouble posting the graphics, but I have 10 AI Events during a 7-1/2 hour sleep. Two were 21 "lollie pops" which I'm guessing are seconds of no breathing.
Any tips on posting the graphic?

There are sooo... many variables.
Is there a pattern... are you getting less now or is it getting worse... or has it stayed the same.
How do you feel?? Is your CPAP pressure the same as sleep study... did you see all the results of the study??? Did you have a study??
etc...
In the meantime... your AI is not terrible and you don't mention hypopneas... but could be better and thats what we're all doing.
How does the therapy feel to you??
More questions than answers... I know.

goto photobucket.com and sign up for an account. Upload your images there and then copy the [IMG]..... type link and put it in your post on this board. Your image should then show up here.allwxrider wrote:I'm having trouble posting the graphics, but I have 10 AI Events during a 7-1/2 hour sleep. Is you leak rate OK?
Posting data
From another cpaper:allwxrider wrote:Any tips on posting the graphic?
1. Be sure your viewing window on the pc is at full-size, so all the data is visible.
2. Hit the Print Screen key on the keyboard.
3. Open your photo editing program. (I use MS Photo Editor.)
4. Open a new file in your photo program and paste (Ctrl+V) the image in.
5. Crop the image to remove extraneous info (like your name, for instance).
6. Save the cropped image to your pc as a .jpg file (perhaps on the Desktop, so it's easy to find).
7. Upload the .jpg to the free image-sharing site.
8. Name and save the image.
9. Copy the Image code on the newly-uploaded file (hover the mouse over the image, and then copy the [IMG] code from the drop-down that appears).
10. Open a new post here, and paste the Image code into the post. Make sure the [ Img ] [/Img ] codes surround the link.
Then click on the Preview button to see if the image shows up correctly in your post. If it does, hit Submit
If you are Mac user, can use Grab for #2 and iPhoto for #3. Make sure to save/convert in jpg format.
Re Ai - your current readings sounded like mine before I tweaked things - for me it was taping mouth to eliminate mouth leaks and switching to straight cpap. After you post the images, others can provide more insight.

Your AHI will vary continuously.
Many many things affect it.
The goal is to have it at 5 or below, as an average.
20 days is too short a time to decide much of anything.
You can easily have 10 events and an AHI below 5 depending on how long your sleep and what portion of that is hypopneas.
You've got a good running start and you've come to the right place to learn about your therapy and your machine.

OK, this is day 22. I don't know what happened in the middle.

Your numbers aren't bad at all....
I'd try to get a flatter leak line and that should reduce Ai even more. Since you're using FFM, it's not mouth leaks. My guess would be you have to play and tweak your mask a little to reduce the leakge.

"Q: Is there a pattern... are you getting less now or is it getting worse... or has it stayed the same."
When I eat dairy, I feel suffocated and can only wear the mask ~5 hours. I feel better when I wear it the whole night. It's easy to say, Don't eat dairy, but harder to avoid.
Q: How do you feel?? Is your CPAP pressure the same as sleep study... did you see all the results of the study??? Did you have a study??
Pressure is 9cm/H2O, same as the study. I didn't see all the results of the study. I had the typical 7 min with the doc and the nurses looked stressed out. I was tired and little short term memory, so didn't think to ask.
Q:In the meantime... your AI is not terrible and you don't mention hypopneas... but could be better and thats what we're all doing.
HI is in the 9-15 range usually.
Q:How does the therapy feel to you??
I have more color to my face, memory is improving. Leaking air is irritating to me, but so is a tight mask.
I smoked 6 cigarettes/ day, now down to 4. It's hard to quit. I know that smoking is a big risk factor. Trying to lose weight, but I read that quitting smoking tends to increase weight.
More questions than answers... I know.
