Lots more dreams now!
Dear Friends,
I have been on cpap since Jan 8 and I am realizing that I seem to be having 2-3 dreams a night now. Some of them are a little weird and nightmarish. But the point is, that I think that I am having much more dreaming than I did before. I guess untreated OSA really does affect your dream state. Now, when I do wake up right after my last dream, I don't feel groggy, but feel energetic and ready for the day ahead. What a difference!

Congratulations! Don't worry about the ones that are nightmarish. That's probably your accumulated sleep deprivation working itself out.Jersey Girl wrote:Dear Friends,

Another congrats!
On my first night with CPAP at home, I had vivid dreams for like the first time in 10 years and when I awoke, I also felt ten years younger.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I had a dream this morning and I was with my my hubby and his HS football team and they were all looking at me very strangely and I figured out I was walking around town with my mask on...hose attached & draped around my neck. LOL

Re: Lots more dreams now!
i have been on for a little over a month, and i think ihad my first dream 2 days ago. its a nice change from the lack of sleep i was getting.
Re: Lots more dreams now!
Thats great. Having dreams and being able to recall them is a sure sign your therapy is on the right track, good for you.
Re: Lots more dreams now!
This is awesome to read. I have just started CPAP about 2 weeks ago and thought I wasn't doing well and not sleeping very well. I have been waking up because of the mask at times, congested at times and having more dreams and some very very disturbing ones. I thought maybe it was because I am overstressed with work and home but then realised that previously I probably didn't usually sleep deeply enough to have dreams or remember them. I am happy to have that confirmed by reading this post.

I used to have stressful, intensive dreams and woke up with fast heartbeats. Dreams are a lot more relax now. On treatment about 10 days.
Re: Lots more dreams now!
Hi,
I find the dreams that I have been having since getting on CPAP to be one the amusing little side effects of the treatment.
As an example, one of my early dreams was going to a restaurant and having the waiter continually mess up my order. It felt like the dream went on for hours. Finally, I got frustrated and yelled at the waiter--some that would be very uncharacteristic for me when awake. I guess my subconscious was having some anger issues that day.
Just recently I had a few weird days at work where there were a lot of rumors going around. It is hard for me to avoid getting irritated when that kind of stuff happens. Towards the end of it, I had a very vivid dream where I had a new job. This job was a giant collection of all the worst features of every bad job that I have had in the past. To top it off, in my dream, the building had a bunch of wings that all looked the same. I kept getting in trouble because I could never seem to find my way back to my desk without getting hopelessly lost. I am guessing that my subconscious was telling me that things could always be worse.

Re: Lots more dreams now!
Before I was diagnosed, I never remembered my dreams. I joked that I just didn't dream. After looking at my sleep study, it appears that I may have been absolutely correct.
