1. The right interface is different for everyone.
2. Will, you are strange!
Sorry, couldn't resist #2. OK, I could resist, but didn't want to.

which one quieter breeze vs swift
Hi, All,
I have not posted very much, although I've been lurking around for quite a while.
May I ask which one of these, Breeze and Swift, is quieter?
Thanks!
Charles

I find the Breeze to be much quieter than the Swift -just my opinion.
The Breeze exhalation port is, however, a pain as it shoots a jet of air that seems to cross the room. One's bed partner might not like the breeze coming from the Breeze.
The Swift has several exhalation ports and blows down -no jet of wind across the room, but it is, to me, noisier.

Just got my Swift today. Seems like it is much more difficult to exhale with this on compared to the other masks I've tried. I put the swift on, bloked the hose and exhaled...seemed quite difficult...added the machine on 11 CFLES set at 3 and still pretty difficult to exhale. Anyone confirm or deny this?
Thx

It is harder in the beginning to exhale on a nasal pillow interface. Think about it, though. The air is not just lurking around after being pumped into a large triangular nasal mask, waiting to be inhaled and exhaled, but you are now being forced to exhale against jet streams of air being propelled into the same pathway that the exhalation is trying to get out through.
It will get easier as you get used to it. The pressure usually seems higher. too, when you first start to use it for the same reason. But it's not an increase in pressure, just the way it feels. I think that same reasoning, though, is why it helps open up the congestion that sometimes you may have. It's like air blasting its way through, as opposed to having to be breathed in. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

The Breeze is quieter than the Swift. But, even the Breeze is not really "quiet."May I ask which one of these, Breeze and Swift, is quieter?
The Swift has a constant whoosh sound of rushing air. Can vary but is constant. Some people have stuffed some netting like tulle material in the cylinder to try to quieten it. I tried various types of netting inside two different Swifts and never could tell that there was any appreciable dampening of the constant sound.
The Breeze makes its whoosh sound only when you inhale. An intermittent sound like that can be more annoying to some than a constant sound is.
I much preferred the inhale sound of the Breeze to the constant "roar" of the Swift.
The Aura (now with a name change to "Headrest" or some such silly name) has essentially the same intermittent inhale sound of the Breeze, and has an exhaust that won't hit the bed partner...or the user. Aura/Headrest has my vote for both sound and direction of the exhaust.
I used the Swift for the first time last night. Found it to be louder than a mask, but still very quiet. My wife had no trouble falling asleep next to me. I was out in 10 minutes as well. The only wake up was due to rainout as I have the machine higher than my bed right now and no heated hose....yet.
Seems to be a very comfortable design, although I can tell that I'll probably have some getting used to the pillows against my nares.
Thanks to all that replied.

Breeze vs Swift
I love my Breeze. I'm a side sleeper and it seems better for me. I was afraid the Swift wouldn't be as comfortable for me on my side. It's also fairly quiet in my opinion.
Even though he is very gracious most of the time with the exhaust from the Breeze, my bedpartner is beginning to call the exhaust..."gale force winds". But he still prefers that to my snoring any day!!
