Remstar Auto filter question

Post by djdixie » Sat Mar 20, 2010 11:41 am

I have a Remstar Auto with CFlex machine. Can I wash the white filter and reuse it or does it have to be replaced with a new one?

No, the white filter should be changed to a new one about once a month (depending on how dirty it looks) and the old dirty one thrown away.

The black foam filters can be washed and reused for a long time.

You cannot wash and re-use the white filters. From my understanding, it would break down the material in the filter and make it an unusable mess.

Personally, I've never used the white filters (even though I do have a number of them). I just rinse/wash out the foam one every two weeks.
Having other respiratory issues (like asthma) might be a reason to use the white ones. Otherwise, they're probably aren't necessary.
