Machine change tonight

Well, I just went form a Phillips Resperonics with no data, to a ResMed Auto with data, excited to see what I find out.

Hi,

Please post some graphs once you get that figured out. I currently have a M-Series BiLevel, but I have an S8 VPAP 25 on order. I am waiting for it like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Three things that are MUCH MUCH better about the S8 machine.

1. The water warmup feature is GREAT.
2. Much quieter.
3. Lighted controls.

It feels like the ERP relief is significantly better then the FLEX relief and it ACTUALLY seems to be in rhythm with my breathing. Actually, it doesn’t feel like air is rushing on my face like the Philips, it just feels pressurized.

I dont have the card reader yet.

But I looked in clinical mode and my AHI over 6 hrs of sleep was 5 I think.

Well glad the new unit with data is working well for you. I also like the "feel" of my ResMed unit. The VPAP Adapt SV unit was the first unit where they figured out how to "smooth out" the pressure change. All units (S8 and S9) since then benefited from that engineering work.

Not everyone does like it. I used NO Flex or EasyBreathe Technology for years, so don't mind either way. Though with the pressure changes of an ASV unit either FLEX or EasyBreathe are VERY important. Otherwise the POP due to the pressure change WOULD awaken almost anyone.

But be aware that some people will sweat at (rather than for) the ResMed EasyBreathe Technology. The good news for all of us is that we have choices.

With an AHI of 5 on the ResMed unit, it sounds as if it is doing a good job of addressing your obstructions. ResMed S8 units tend to "overscore" the hypopneas, so a sleep lab might score you even lower. That's a very good thing .. as is the good sleep therapy it should provide!
