BiPap M700 BiFlex alway turns OFF

BiPap M700 BiFlex Auto - Default settings.

My machine turns off as soon as I remove the mask.
There is a setting that will keep it going even when mask is removed, and then it activates when you breath into it.
This is NOT the "auto off" feature which can be set on the menu, and only turns off (or doesn't turn off)
. It is an "auto on" feature whose default is as described; it turns ON automatically, and now it is also turning OFF automatically. Setting "auto off" feature doesn't change it, and apparently needs to be set "under the cover" or "behind the scenes"(I think because there is nothing any manual of Respronics except for one which says the provider sets it.)

Any tech gurus?
