Oh goody...

Honestly, I'm thinking of just telling them to pound sand.

Do I really want more problems? Not really, I just want my life back and I view these clowns as playing with it.

It's probably not the best way to deal with it, but it is tempting.

Edit- removed TMI

Well, this is interesting.

I decided to go with the provider I had to drive to, mainly because the lady I was talking with knew her stuff. I was getting ready to call up and confirm the official move to the other provider. Then, a bill showed up from the company I was going to change to. I open it and find out the outfit I am currently with is a subcontractor for that company.

I call up the other company and once she found out about the subcontractor bit, immediately contacted her supervisor who then contacted the supervisor at my current DME.

I received a call from the supervisor at my current DME within 15 minutes and was told she also couldn't get a hold of the RT and left a voice mail. She then said to call back if I don't hear anything from the RT within an hour. Of course, I didn't get any calls from the RT. I called back and they are going to continue trying to get a hold of her tonight, but either way they will have someone drop off a new mask tomorrow.

Hi,
The company I work for has a change of supplier form that you can fill out requesting your information be supplied to another provider. The paperwork that you signed from your dme company doesnt really matter because it is your insurance company's contract with the dme. Every contract that I know of gives the patient the right to sever ties with the company at any time. You havent had the machine long enough to make it hard for you to get another company to take you on. Basically if the first company has billed the machine for 2 months and your insurance allows 10 months then the company you switch to will get paid for 8 months. The longer you wait the harder it is to switch (for the machine). Switching to another company for supplies is much easier. Just get a copy of a current (less than a year old) rx, original sleep studies, and insurance cards and get them to the dme of your choice and they should be able to take over. If not go somewhere else. I'm sure there is probably someone in the forum in your area. Maybe you could submit a post asking who has had a good experience in your area.
Good luck,
Kevin
