Mask Noise

Post by thewebbie » Mon Oct 17, 2005 6:49 pm

Hi All!

Doing well on therapy.. Feeling better day by day.

I did a search but did not find the answer I was looking for.

I took apart my mask as per the instructions to clean it but now it makes much more noise. Some whistling and squishing sounds. I know it put it back together properly.. What can I do?

Matthew

I just got my Comfort Curve last week and experienced some of the same whistling noises others had described on this forum. Luckily, I remembered someone suggesting using teflon tape around the elbow joints to make it stop. So, I stumbled to the garage and managed to find some and did exactly as they described and it worked. Thank goodness!

So maybe the same idea might work for you. Of course, you may need to get a little more creative with the teflon seeing as you have a different mask. Worth a try? Good luck.

My mother always says, "Attitude is Everything".
My problem is that I've got way too much of it!

Take a real close look at the retaining clip part and makesure everything is lined up right. the first/last time I took mine apart I though it was all set but it was not quite right and made all sortsa noise.

My UltraMirage FF mask almost drove me nutz the first few nights with whistling noises. I couldn't for the life of me figure out where they were coming from. I ended up taking the whole mask apart again, washing it well with Ivory liquid and warm water and then put it back together. I was VERY careful snapping the swivel back together and voila! You can think the swivel connector is properly connected, but just a little teeny bit off and you get noises....that seem to come from nowhere and everywhere.

Hope this helps.

This therapy WORKS!!!
