S9 - SD Card Reader Concerns Entirely Mitigated

My DME is trying to get me an S9 Autoset through my insurance (BC/BS) so I have one quick question regarding the datacard.

I check and set all my machines (various Resmed S8's) with the direct connect USB adapters. Is checking/changing the settings a simple matter when using the SD card to carry over the data? If so, how do I tell the machine to read the card to pickup the changes?

My understanding is that any change made to the card while it is attached to your computer will automatically be read by the blower once you put the card back into your blower.

Where did you get the software ? I just bought a S9 (first machine) and would like to understand more of what is hapenning but my provider doesn't sell the software nor seem interested in helping me get it (good guy otherwise . Also, can you point me to some documentation that explains the vocabulary of the measurement (like central AI, total AI, etc) ? I've been looking for a while but can only find the basic definition. Thanks !

You can find lots of information about the basic vocabulary (and them some) in the CPAP Wiki -- click on the yellow lightbulb top center. Resmed's site also has a lot to offer.

I did use the tank for the first time last night! I was too ornery and tired and confused to deal with it on Monday night. Big improvement over my existing CPAP! THANK YOU!

It seems a liitle silly sometimes though, all this angst and struggle and desperation and confusion over a little box that is just such a PITA anyway! Kind of like kids I suppose .....
