All,
In first week and adjusting to CPAP at 16. I originally tried the ramp and found I was waking and unable to tolerate pressure at 16. Last two nights I followed a suggestion and bypassed the ramp, Go, and $200 and went straight to 16. I was able to tolerate well for a couple of hours. However, it seems that once I fall asleep and wake, I am unable to tolerate again and have to remove the mask. C-Flex 2, Heater on 3 (mid-setting), temperature drops @ 5 degrees from the time mask goes on to the time I have to take it off. This normal? Suggestions?
I also noticed over the past week that my breathing is slightly more labored. My chest does not hurt, it just feels like there is a slight tightness that gives a distinct feeling like I walked into a cloud bank and I am breathing heavier. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Blake

Why not set the ramp to begin a little lower than your 16cms (maybe 12 or 14), and use it when you wake in the middle of the night? Removing the mask is NOT the answer. Do what you have to do to enable your continuous use of the machine.
Feeling a slight tightness in your chest is not unusual. Your muscles are getting a workout because you're now breathing more deeply at night. Your body will get used to it.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.
