Auto working fantastic for me

Post by Spirit » Tue Mar 02, 2010 1:52 pm

Hi,
Thought I would update everyone, went to auto setting around 2 weeks ago, awesome news is no red flags on graph, was getting 5-6 per night. The longer I use auto mode, details are improving daily. AHI has averaged 3.1,. I slept 9.5 hours and apnea index 0.00 Best I have felt in a very long time. I'm bursting with energy, painted my entire house last week. Energy levels continue to improve. Will be difficult for me to return to straight cpap mode.

Thanks to all those that helped me through my journey.

But I'll try to upload my latest graph in a bit.

Hi Spirit! That is great news! I just started trying auto 3 days ago, and I also am loving it. Though, not quite ready to paint my house, but it needs it! If you're available after doing Uncle Bob's give me a shout!

Seriously though, I'm glad you are doing so well. You said it would be difficult to return to straight cpap. Why would you go back?

That's awesome! I had the same reaction when I switched to an Apap!

Great job hanging in there. You are an inspiration.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for wonderful replies. Thank goodness for this forum, cause if I waited for my sleep doc, optimal treatment would have taken forever, increasing pressure every 6-12 months. Uploading graphs, my AHI is beginning to constently stay low I have only experienced improvements in auto mode, sleeping longer, 0.00 apnea's., Wish I could upload all my graphs, but that's a whole lot of em

Also graph forwards to next session. Had to correct clock on cpap. But 44 mintues didn't show much on graph, just 2 hypops. Leak rate increased adjusting mask, should have just left it alone but majority of the time, mostly flatline.

I fell asleep without cpap last night, and I'm definetly feeling it tonight. I need to learn, even though I don't feel tired, when I lay down, put mask on. Occassionally, I'll wake up without using cpap.

Thanks for all the tremendous support I've recieved, I know I wasn't alway's positive or supporting, my apologies, but now feeling a zillion times better, all that will change.

We all understood all too well. We're just grateful you got some WONDERFUL sleep. Learning to consistently use xPAP is a habit you have to develop. The moring headaches help remind you. But after 20 years you would think I would know better. Ah, well! It happens to all of us.

Here's hoping you continue to make progress toward better sleep, better outlook and most importantly better health.

Sure anytime You all, send me a plane ticket, hotel reservations I love to paint, I started with one room, then the next, etc.... My feet are barkin, from standing 8-10 hours, but feels awesome !! Sure beats feeling like a zombie. Think reason I am sleeping better, cause now I am physically exercising my body, so when it's time to sleep, I'm out !!

Hi Rooster,
Pressure is set 9cm-15cm,. Rarely goes over 13cm, so I may kick it down to 13. Straight cpap pressure starting 8cm, then doc increased to 9cm, then I increased to 10cm,. Still felt fatigued after using straight cpap for 6 months, thought I'd give auto a try, and happy I did

I am of the school that likes to open the max pressure up to the machine maximum. But you seem to be figuring everything out well, so I am reluctanct to suggest you open yours up.
