Help with Data
Hi all.......
John and all thanks.
I received my M series auto a few weeks ago and have some questions about the data and trying to get myself better.
MY weekly data is........
I received my M Series Auto two weeks ago and it seems easier on me. I have been downloading my reports weekly and not sure if there is somewhere here to talk about them, so if this is the wrong place please excuse me.
What kind of numbers should I look for. I'm sure some should be close to zero and others will be high. How should I look at this report daily event per hour.......the daily total, average, pressure
The week stats:
Avg 90% pressure: 13.1
Avg pressure: 8.2
Average Non-responsive apnea/hyopnea index: 0
Average Obstructive apnea index: 1
Average hypopnea index: 1.4
Average AHI: 2.4
Average Flow limitation index: 1.2
Average Vibratory Snore Index: 28.6
Average Max Leak: 64
Average 90% Leak: 35.4
Average Leak: 27.7
Average Large Leak 34.3 Secs.
I do get some hypopnea of 4.6 to 9.5 at certain pressures at times but this is changing so no one pressure to single out.
I of course see the pressure grid but is there a way of seeing a time grid......just would like to see if I'm having problems at what specific time during the night.
If there is somewhere on the group to futhher discuss the reports please let me know.
thanks so very much.

Re: Help with Data
So when's your large leak happening? It'll mess with the numbers.
Re: Help with Data
With a average leak of 35.4 or less, for 90% of the time I really would not very concerned.
But we would need to know your mask type and the pressure settings to really understand the data.
I'd say that was good data. If the snoring is bothering anyone you may get rid of it by raising the minimum slightly.

Re: Help with Data
I looked at the files you linked to. Of course, the first file where you were using an M series Plus cpap, wasn't informative.
The last two files, where you were using the Auto... the first thing I'd do is raise that minimum pressure setting to 7 or 8. I'd try a range of 7 - 20 or 8 - 20 and see what the data looks like then. But that's just what I'd do, and I'm no doctor.
Your numbers look ok, but the pressure graph looks like that might be a rocky ride all night -- so much climbing up and down of the pressure. Raising the minimum pressure might smooth the therapy out. Don't know if you need it to be "smoother" (it might not be disturbing your sleep at all) but, anyway... might be worth a try, since you have the software and can see what a change in the minimum pressure would do.

Some pretty nice leak lines in the last two as well... It looks like you're headed in the right direction.

Rested gal and Dream Diver
rested gal,
Thanks much. I will try the increase to 7 and see how that goes, I undersand and appreciate your insight. I never know this software exsisted until about a year ago and was finally able to afford it, I honestly thought this was something my sleep doctor or DME provider looked at when I sent them my data card.
DreamDiver,
"nice leak lines" is something bad? I am new here can you please explain, thanks.

It's something good. It means you're not likely having large leaks. For that reason the data you're seeing is remarkably valid. Excellent!gmoorhouse wrote:DreamDiver,

DreamDiver,
Thanks about the leak lines, I actually thought it meant I had leaks. I know I need to read up on much stuff.....but do appreciate you all getting me started and being patient.

Re: Rested gal and Dream Diver
Usually the only thing a DME (or the doctor, for that matter) ever looks at from a machine download is whether the person is using the machine frequently enough for insurance to say, "ok, we'll pay the rental fee." The DME and the doctor are usually not a bit interested in anything other than how many hours a night you use the machine.gmoorhouse wrote:I honestly thought this was something my sleep doctor or DME provider looked at when I sent them my data card.
I, on the other hand, am not a bit interested in seeing how many hours I use the machine. I already know I'm using it...every night, all night.
Here's a topic that has a screenshot of the only part of the report from Encore Pro or Encore Viewer I look at (begins on page 4 of a downloaded report):
