Dear Friends,

I too am very, very happy and thankful for my cpap therapy. I now wake up feeling refreshed. I am no longer one of the walking wounded, living in a world of memory loss, fog and exhasution. And, the white noise in the background is pleasant. I have just ordered some aroma therapy for my cpap through http://www.pursleep.com. I wanted to try out a bit of lavender scent. You just put a little of the oil on a round circular pad, put it in the holder, and place a couple of inches away from the air intake and have a pleasant light smeel of lavender during the night. Thought I'd try it.

So, if you are a freak for liking your therapy, then so am I!

Your friend,

Jersey Girl

How come you haven't been back to the sleep doctor in 5 years since you were diagnosed? That seems like an awfully long time.
That statement fascinates me and makes me think, Jersey Girl. It never really crossed my mind that I would ever want to go back to my sleep doc unless a problem came up. Once he wrote the Rx and answered a few questions, I was basically through with him. He's a nice guy and all, but what would I get out of seeing him again?

I can't think of any problem a sleep dr could solve that can't be solved by the experts here and by having a data-capable machine and being able to interpret the reports and adjusting as necessary. Of course any other medical conditions need to be be addressed by a physician. My husband only saw a sleep specialist once a month after he began therapy and he was more interested in asking me questions about the reports I brought him and telling me what a good job I was doing with tweaking the settings.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I have no idea where that phrase came from, but I heard it in my childhood. Funny how you remember weird stuff like that.

Glad to hear you like your therapy.

If we all wear our badges, we could identify each other when we're attending apnea support group meetings. It may scare people who just don't understand, though.

I have not been able to find an AWAKE meeting here in Northern NJ. Chilton Memorial Hospitla in Pompton Plains lists one on the web that they do NOT have. I called. I get my support here, virtually.
