BiPAP Machine Suggestion

Post by Cholo » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:58 am

Hi Guys,

I'm just new here and seeking for info about BiPaP's.

I've been diagnosed with a severe OSA and obesity hypoventilation syndrome.

My sleep study results says that I need to buy a Bipap Machine which have atleast 26 IPAP / 22 EPAP and with heated humidifier.

what brand can you suggest? model?.. I'm living in Philippines and Bipaps machines here are cost a lot. I have relatives in canada and us who can help me to buy it if there's no retailer here...

thanks for your inputs..

There are few BIPAP machines that go above 25 for IPAP.

This one does, and is meant for Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome:

Before you buy it, download the info about it, bring it to your doctors and ask them what they think.

The machine can be ordered online from https://www.cpap.com -- but they need your prescription.

Good luck,

help me choose guys..

Option 1

IntelliPAP BiLevel Machine with Heated Humidifier
https://www.cpap.com/productpage-bundle ... undle.html

Option 2
Sandman Duo BiLevel CPAP Machine with Built In Heated Humidifier and Sandman Therapy Software Kit
https://www.cpap.com/productpage-bundle ... e-1.4.html

I'm thinking of adding the M Series BiPAP Plus with Bi-Flex, Heated Humidifier on my options but Its really pricey for me.. price is a major factor as for now..

so the 2 options are the lowest priced I've looked so far at cpap.com

suggest that you hunt around Craiglist especially at certain cities where your family live so that they can buy one for you. Althogh many listers ask for unrealitic price, there are people who are pragmatic and offer prices aroun $300 for BIPAP etc.

Don't do the Plus... if you're going with Respironics.. go with the Pro.

Thanks cpapernewbie,

I'll will try to look at craig.. but I'm afraid that they might sell them a defective machine.. It will be too hard for my relatives to configure it out if its working well or not. once it arrives here in my country, there's no turning back.

We'll be spending a lot for shipping fee's and surely customs here will charged me with its taxes & duties.

but one thing for sure is that I will be surely getting this machine over the internet.. cause retail prices of this machines here in our country are doubled up.. and we really can't afford it.

@cpapernewbie,

Yeah I've checked it out at craig and found that also.. my relative already getting in touch already vwith the seller. I'm so glad because it only 15 mins drive from our relative house in bc,canada. I've got a heads up today that they already bought the machine. I'll just wait for the unit here to arrived here in the philippines..and I hope It will be exempted from customs taxes and duties.
