If your Dr. is a sleep certified, then NO! this is not right. Most of the manufacturers supply the software and readers at no charge, so it sounds more like a lack of willingness to go beyond the perfunctionary duties of the Physician.
If your machine is less than 5 years old it may be difficult to get a new one, but it sounds like it is older and in need of updating. Call the DME, Get a new physician (sleep diplomated preferred) and keep on PAPing. Your health is worth the effort.
Does this sound right?
Re: Does this sound right?
Beachfrog- Unfortunately my machine is very new (like 2 weeks). I am in the process of finding a new sleep doctor.
