CPAPing with allergies - how to breath I know not

Post by ellijacket » Thu Oct 13, 2005 1:19 pm

My allergies kicked in last night and I could not breath through my nose. Tried to get something to drain and used the CPAP at full blast to clear out a path in the sinuses. No luck.

Laid down anyway and almost passed out. Took off mask and sat in my recliner and slept until 4:45am. Got up and put mask on and slept until 6:30 with mask.

Is there a good way to CPAP with a stuffed up nose? None have I found.

RhinoCort Aqua, used daily during the season. The initial hit doesn't take effect for up to 10 hours, and the effects build up over successive days.

Use meds like this as a preventative, not for instant relief.
