New machine.

Post by Sleepin'jax » Wed Feb 10, 2010 4:22 pm

Hi all. Don't post much, as I seem to have a relatively uneventful therapy goin' on, but I thought I would share my experience with a machine switch, and I apologize in advance if it's already been a subject.
I have been on the hose for 4 years. I have had 1 autopap the whole time. Remstar auto with c flex and humidifier. The only complaint I ever had was a highly annoying rainout problem this time of year.(North fl. humid/cool/like it cool). I would be woken up 2-3 times a night by gurgling/nose full of cold water. Did the hose blanket thing, to no avail. Ran the hose under pillow/covers, and that helped but a pain!.
My humidifier needed filling about every night(#3 setting).
Just got the PR system one with the new humidifier/humidity control thingy a week ago, and I have to tell you how GREAT this machine is for solving my problem. There has not been the slightest HINT of moisture in my mask, or hose....and we added an extra length of hose with a t-fitting in between the hoses with a moisture trap, just to be safe....and IT has had no condensation in it either! The humidifier is using about 1/10th the water of the old machine on the same setting, but no dry mouth. Hope this info helps someone.

Just had to share, as I can't believe the difference.

Good sleepin' to all!

Hi!

I just started on my (severe) OSA therapy a week ago and I have the PR System One as well and I love it. Absolutely no problem with rainout whatsoever and I switch back and forth between the 4 and 5 settings. It is also much more comfortable to breathe with than the M Series machine I was titrated with back in November but I had a FF mask that was completely wrong for me then. And you are right that it consumes very little water. Great machine!
