ResScan Version 3.7

Post by katztoy » Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:53 pm

Has anyone used the ResMed software on Windows 7 yet? I just want to see if it's worth buying or to wait for an update.

You might want to tweak subject to include Win 7 OS. That might generate more responses?

I'm using on WinXP and it's fine, although having trouble with the usb adapter - sent back to cpap.com to test, fix and/or replace???

I was about to ask the same question. I can't get it to load properly on Windows 7. It won't install the card reader/usb drivers.

Fortunately I have my old reliable PC with windows xp and it works on there. Never had a problem on vista either.

I have ver 3.05.010 ( I think that is right ) working fine on Windows 7 64 bit.

Haven't seen ver 3.07.

Is it much different?

Is it " in the wild"?

To clarify. I'm using Windows 7 pro on my laptop.

Tried to install it again today and had same issue. Won't install the drivers. I had uninstalled the rescan software on my PC desktop with xp. Reinstalled it this morning no issues.

I really like Windows 7. I've gone a month crash free, but I'm having some issues with some of the programs. Movie Maker didn't come with it this time so I downloaded it as instructed. Can't get the dang thing to work. Same version as my last one but it says my video card isn't right (it is). I just go back to my old beast of a PC to do the editing I need to do for the kids stuff.

I can't answer what the differences are between the resmed software versions as I've only ever had the 3.7 version.

Have you tried downloaded and installing the current Win 7 certified driver from the ACS web site....

http://www.acs.com.hk/index.php?pid=drivers&id=ACR38

Make sure to choose the x64 version if you are using a 64 bit version of WIndows 7.

Cheers,

Bill

I'm running it on my laptop in W7 with no problems at all.

I sent you a PM, please read it before you buy the software.

On their website they also support Mac OS - I thought ResScan only works in Windows environment. Can you shed any light on this?

That web site is for ACS, not ResMed.

ResScan software from Resmed is only supported for Windows environments, and unless Apple sees a dramatic (and unexpected) increase in PC market share I don't see that changing anytime soon.

ACS manufacture the ResScan branded card reader that is supplied by Resmed. ACS is a widely used brand within the global Smartcard industry, and there are many. many uses for Smartcards, so ACS supports their range of readers with interface drivers for multiple operating system environments.

Resmed 3.7 was released well before Windows 7, so only contains driver support up to Windows Vista. The software does work on Windows 7 when used with the Windows 7 card reader drivers. In most cases Windows 7 will detect the ACS reader when it is first inserted after Windoes 7 has been installed and retrieve the correct driver for it automatically, if the system concerned is online to the Internet, but occassionally that doesn't happen.

Resmed has announced ResScan 3.10, and that should ship with Windows 7 drivers.

Cheers,

Bill

I had ver 3.5 working fine on Windows 7 64 bit.

Installed ver 3.7 and it seems to be just the same, perhaps a bit faster to generate reports.

When I installed Windows 7 it recognized the card reader and downloaded a driver for it that has worked fine.
But, when doing Windows updates, it tells me there is a new driver.

I'm hesitant to install a new driver when the one I have is working ok.

Will be interesting to see ver .10.

Perhaps that is the version for the new Resmed machines coming March 1st?
