New machines out

Post by mrschwarz » Sat Feb 06, 2010 7:03 pm

After about 6 years on a Respironics CPAP, I am doing another sleep study and will most likely get a new CPAP machine. What's new out there? What are some of the features and what should I be looking for?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Take a look at CPAP.com. You will find lots of differnet models.

Are you interested in straight CPAP? What about APAP?

You should definitely request fully data capable. A unit that provides more than compliance data (how much you used it) is important. Depending on the manufacturer, models with more than compliance data will provide the number of apneas, the number of hypopneas, the time when snoring is detected, the time when periodic breathing is detected and so on.

So, do some window shopping and comparison.
