I was always a mouth breather (deviated septum), but was convinced by my DME that I should try a nose pillow with a chin strap since I was having leak issues with a FFM. At the time I had an Escape II and could not see leak information directly... the DME told me to pay attention to dryness in my mouth. He also said that most people can be trained to keep their mouth closed and to try removing the chin strap after two weeks and see how dry my mouth was in the morning.
I now have an Elite II (with software) and can see leaks and when they happen. With my Swift LT leaks are 0.00 and my mouth is not dry in the morning, so I assume everything is good. However it got me to thinking that perhaps the machine doesn't pick up leaks when you mouth breath through pillows/nasal masks. Any comments?

From experience, yes, if you breathe through your mouth you will see evidence of the leaks, if they are significant. (Or even if they are not.) I use the Swift LT for Her nasal pillow mask. Sounds like you may be doing very well.

Mouth leaks show up as leaks in the software for me too.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
