I went for another sleep study in May of 2005.....Thank you Dr. Chu and Dr. Siegel-Robles. For sending me for a sleep study. Last but not least, Thank You Dr. Romero for suggesting to Dr.Siegel-Robles that I had sever OSA. I got my first Cpap Machine a Remstar Plus on June 21 2005. They gave me the machine the day before my 54th birthday so was I 53 or 54 your guess?
Be glad that you were diagnosed at an early age before it had a chance to kill you.

I was first diagnosed w/OSA Nove 2007, got a cpap and was sent home. Used it for about a month, not everyday maybe four days total. Packed it away and said the heck with this. In Aug 2009 things got pretty bad, did not sleep for about three days. Thought I was goning to die, called my Dr. got an appointment with primary gave some xanax to hold me over until I made another appointment with my sleep dr. another sleep study this time got a bipap auto, made situation worse, two months later went back this time he requested a ASV titration based on the centrals . Now I'm on Vpap adapt sv. Feel great, looking back I think I had this since 1996

I feel ya bro-
I am 23, and have been on it for a year. I am very active, very lean, and have no clue why I ended up with apnea!

I was 50 but I have had high blood pressure, noisy snoring and waking up tired (but still able to function) for at least 8 years before that.
My MD of the time told I had maybe a little depression an offered me antidepression pills because an appointment for a sleep study would have taken a waithing of 6 months. I decided to let him take the antidepression pills .
I imagine I had OSA since I was around 42. That become worse with the time.

Started CPAP the week before Christmas 2009....I am 37, but I am sure I have had OSA for at least the last 14 years. I stopped smoking 8 years ago and the snoring/stopped breathing got better....for a while. Then, slowly over the years it got worse and worse and the last 6 years has been really bad. Wish I had done something about it before now, but at least I am proactive about it and have managed not to develop high BP, diabetes, or die in my sleep before now. Be glad you did something at a young age.....very wise of you.

Long time user since 1996 anyways, most likely should have started at least ten years before that though.
have a Fisher & Paykel Icon+ with built in humidifier (not fancy but it works) not sure it's not listed!

Wow there is a wide variety of age groups here! It is great to have a sort of support group that can be wirelessly accessed! If only everyone who does not know they have OSA could magically get a sleep study and follow through sighhh. until then, Stay on the hose!

I was 28½ when I was diagnosed in 2007, and had been complaining of symptoms since I was 11½.

I was 24 when first started using CPAP. My Dr. thinks could have done with it a lot earlier as believe it is a side effect from Childhood asthma and with having a shorter lower jaw. Have to admit may be a lifer for CPAP but could not do without it now! Even a single night without it is horrific!

I was diagnosed in late 2007, at age 50. My brother was diagnosed about 10 years ago, when he was 45. I'm sure my dad has apnea, but he won't get tested. My uncle (dad's brother) has tried to get through three sleep studies in the past (two of them done at home), but was never able to sleep well enough to get a good reading or a diagnosis. His last study was finally successful, and he just started therapy (at age 85).
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy.

PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

I was diagnosed last fall at 57. I am sure that I have had it for many years. Turns out It runs in my family. My mother's sister was diagnosed about 15 years ago, around age 68?. My cousin, age 58, was diagnosed last summer. I convinced my mother, age 78 to get a sleep study which she had about a month ago and she too has OSA. Now we are both working on my brother, trying to get him to get tested.
