Dry Air issue

Post by TravLikes » Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:15 am

I have the S8 AutoSet II machine with the heated humidifier and the Quattro Full Face mask.

I'm finding I need humidified air or I wake up with a bad dry mouth in the middle of the night. Even if I have the humidity set on II I find the air to be too warm for comfort and can't remain asleep. Cool air I can handle. Warm air, not well. I have been trying to use the humidifier with no heat but not enough of the water makes its way into the air flow.

Are there any other options for someone such as myself? Is there a cool air humidification system I could use with my AutoSet?

Thanks

The type of humidifier you're looking for is called a "passover humidifier" the air passes over a relatively large surface of water, and picks up more humidity than it does when it passes over the smaller surface of the non-heated heated humidifier.

Here's a list of passover humidifiers on cpap.com's site. https://www.cpap.com/productSearch.php? ... y=passover cpap.com hosts cpaptalk -- and will match any lower prices you find elsewhere.
