Resscan data problem

Post by jjocelyn » Mon Jan 25, 2010 5:29 am

Hi everyone,
Finally received my resscan smart data reader. However i have some problems using it.
When I connected the card reader with my PC, everything looks fine. Only if I inserted the data card to download the data, then my computer hanged.
Does anyone know what's wrong here? Can anyone experienced with ResScan 3.7 or the smart card reader give me a hint?

THanks alot!

What do you mean by this comment?

Give us more information. I have Vista, the ResScan card reader, and 3.7 software, and haven't had a bit of trouble.

Are you putting the card into the reader with the gold side up?

It may have something to do with the order of opening the program, and plugging the card reader in. I open ResScan, then plug in the card reader. Next, I open my patient file, and then insert the card into the reader. When the program recognizes it, I download data. Also, don't remove the card from the reader until you have closed ResScan.

I don't know if there is a technical reason, but it works for me.

Greetings jjocelyn! Sorry you are having problems here. I don't know the version of Windows you have. That can make a difference. When I use ResScan (but without a card reader), I find it easier to have ResScan running BEFORE I try to capture the data (in my case from the machine, in your case when you insert the data card). So, if you have not already, try to run the ResScan software first, then after it has started insert the data card.

If that does not work, then you may need to provide more info about your computer. We may be able to "fake" the software into thinking it is using a different version of Windows than you actually have installed on your PC.

Hope that helps.
