font size for website
I just learned how to adjust the font size for the entire forum website. THANK YOU OZIJ My next question is this. Can the change be saved? I want the website to remember my selection of font size so that I don't have to adjust it every time I log in. Is this possible? Am I asking too much?

You're welcome, Cobalt Panther. I think keeping that info on a person's computer is a great idea. Maybe TrinhVu the forum's programmer can take care of that. I also think that using slightly larger type on that specific option (right of center, underneath the blue band on top) can be a great help to those who need it .

This works on my computer (laptop with Microsoft Vista), but don't know if it will work on yours:
Hold down Control Key. At the same time, click on + Key, and release. Click again, to keep getting bigger.
To decrease size, Hold Control Key and click on - Key.

Thanks again ozij, what a blessing for these poor old tired eyes. I can't remember this ever being mentioned before. Cobalt, I just clicked on Bigger Font in the blue section twice until I got the size I liked, logged off, then logged in again and the larger font was still there. I didn't have to do anything else.

Do you let the site log you on automatically? If you do this it deposits a cookie on your computer and should save your font size like it did for Dori. Make sure your computer accepts cookies from cpaptalk.com.Cobalt Panther wrote:I just learned how to adjust the font size for the entire forum website. THANK YOU OZIJ My next question is this. Thank you all who replied. When I sign off of the internet, Firefox clears all temp files and cookies automatically. So, I have to log in when I come to the site. It will remember my login and password but it will not log me on automatically. I do not mind having to log in myself. What I would like is when I log in, the site remembers how I want to view the it (font size). I hope that makes sense.

If I understood your earlier posts correctly, when you log in the site uses the default font size instead of the size you last used. That is an indication that it reads the font size off the cookie and you would have to keep the cookie to get the font size you want automatically.
I drilled down to User Control Panel/Board Preferences/Edit Display Options. There is not a field in which to save your preferred display font size. That almost certainly means you would need to keep the cookie to get the font size you want.

This tip works for most Windows programs: hold down CONTROL and roll the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size of the text in the opened window or application. It's temporary but after you remember to use it, it's second nature.

That is so cool I will have to remember that
Rooster,
I also looked in the control panel and did not find anything. That is why a posted the question. I am glad that you did not find anything. That means my glasses are good for something Since I will not be changing my Firefox settings, I will have to hope that the computer geeks here will decide to offer a way to save font size adjustments. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed.

Re: font size for website
Right, I delete my cookies manually every month or so and then I have to log in here and all my other sites again but only once so I'll probably have to use the Bigger Font button once after I clean my cookies to enlarge the font again. But it's really a good feature as I post this.rooster wrote:Do you let the site log you on automatically? I'm using IE 7+...there's a control in the lower left-hand corner of each window that shows 100% with an arrow that allows you to select other sizes.
