I have the USB adaptor on my ResMed VPAP Auto and the ResScan 3.7 software. When I export data from the software, I only get the rudimentary summary information.
Is there a way to export tabular data for the hour to hour information shown on the detailed graphs and the "mask events" shown on the summary graphs?
It seems I can view that data only through the ResScan software.
Thanks.

Re: Related ResScan Data question
Unfortunately, short of having the skill to read the data card directly and write code to interpret it (which I lack, though at least one other poster has recently claimed to be able to do so with C##), I know of no way to get at the underlying detail data on the ResScan card or through the software.
Even the simple data you mention in their current "export" function is only found in the newer versions of ResScan.
Prior to ResScan, ResMed provided AutoScan software, the last version of which was 5.7. This software did allow for export to a spreadsheet of detailed data. While ResMed did include the original S8 machines in AutoScan, the software does not support the S8 II series of machines. I am fortunate enough to have a machine old enough to continue using AutoScan.
I have complained bitterly to ResMed when they introduced ResScan, and I like to think that my kvetching induced them to put in the inadequate "export" of largely "demographic" information they now offer. One major change between AutoScan and ResScan is a different way in with information is stored on the computer. That may have made it much more difficult for them to provide a real export of detail data. Either that, or they just don't care, because there is little evidence that many physicians care. Just us users. Go figure.

Re: Related ResScan Data question
I am reading initial question differently than Velbor.......and so maybe I'm misinterpreting the question.
I'm not at my home computer right now with ResScan software in front of me--so from memory I can tell you, I open my file, and select download....it defaults to summary information only. If you check the get detailed information or something to that effect, you will get the information you are requesting for charts, hour by hour.
If I'm understanding your question correctly, this should provide more of the information you are looking for.........from there you can customize the look of graphs by stretching out the timeframes etc.
Ask again, if I can be of further assistance.

Re: Related ResScan Data question
Thank you Velbor and Scapper. I can keep detailed information if I download data from the CPAP machine every 5 days so. The files seem to be in some sort of compressed file. I have noticed over time I have more "wakeful" time around 12:30am to 1:30am and then more "sound" sleep between 2am-4am. It's this period of time is where I think REM sleep occurs. That's what showed up on my sleep study a year ago.
The long and the short of the thing is that if I get leaks and other problems in the early morning hours, it doesn't seem like I get the REM sleep I need. Most of the "mask events" (where I sometimes take off the mask in my sleep) are in the very early time frame. I suppose I could take a random sample of the various detailed charts, print them, cut out the time period I want to look at and glue onto bigger piece paper and look at the data that way. I was looking for a more "elegant" solution than that though. Just something that I alone am interested in.
You are right Scrapper, doctors could care less about this kind of stuff and maybe ResMed we'll do something stupid if we users mess around with the data. The data is there though and it's kind of frustrating not to have access to it.
Thanks for you help.

Re: Related ResScan Data question
If you download every three days--or the fourth day before noon--the software will collect the detailed information for you and save it. After those timeframes on the machine, the oldest data just rolls into the averages, and detailed data is lost forever..........
