My humidifier is using a lot less water now during the winter. Is that normal?

Not normal.......(Unless you are located in a very humid area).......normal would be using more water when the heat is on in the house.

Of course, it could be the A/C during summer takes more moisture out of the air than your heating system. But, I agree with LSAT, that's NOT what I would expect.
