Respironics EASYLIFE mask is a DREAM come true

Post by calamityjane403 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 1:50 pm

I was diagnosed with OSA in September and started treatment the end of that month. I started with the Respironics Comfort Gel which gave me a great seal but was very uncomfortable due to all the facial pain that I have. I then switched to the Swift LT nasal pillows but it causes me to hyperventilate (even after I turned the pillows the right was ). I then tried the Fisher & Paykel Flexifit but it was only able to wear it for an hour at a time. I was getting so frustrated that I didn't even use my machine for nights at a time. The beginning of December I tried the ComfortLite 2 but the only way I can keep a good seal is to hold it against my nose with my hand.

I finally met with my sleep doc and told him of all the struggles I had been having with trying to find a mask that didn't cause me pain and gave a good fit. He suggested either the Resmed Activa (which he himself uses) or the Respironics EasyLife. I called up the company that supplies my equipment and arranged to meet with the rep to try both the masks out. After 3 1/2 months of struggling I think I have hit the jackpot with the EasyLife. I just got it on 1/8 and have had more sleep time with my mask in the last 4 nights than I did in the last 4 weeks.

I would recommend this mask to anyone who suffers from facial and/or jaw pain.

That is great that you found a mask that fits comfortably, and so fast I'm two and a half years in and still haven't found a mask that doesn't either leak profusely or cause pain.

And welcome to the forum!

I'm going to have to agree, I have only used it for 1 night (last night) so far, but it was the most comfortable mask I have ever worn. I'll wear it the rest of the week and give a review this weekend if I can fit it between the hockey games!!
Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.
