Hi all,
I've been using the Mirage Swift LT Nasal Pillows with my S8 Autoset II for the last month. This seems to work pretty well for me now that I've gotten a papCap chinstrap to keep my mouth closed. I also own a ComfortGel Nasal CPAP mask but I've only tried it briefly once, the second day I had the machine, because it felt confining to me. I want to try it again but I've learned over the last month about the mask settings on the S8 Autoset II (and I have access to the Clinician menus now, etc.).
I'm trying to figure out what to set the mask type to on the S8 Autoset II when I use the ComfortGel Nasal mask with it. Does anyone have any guidance here? Given the popularity of both the machine and the mask, I figure that someone does.
As a side note, while I'm not sleeping deeply with the machine, my UARS-style daily headaches have gotten MASSIVELY better during the last week or so that I've started using the machine for six hours at a stretch.

Re: Resmed S8 Autoset II with ComfortGel Nasal CPAP Mask
Set your machine on Activa.......that is the ResMed nasal mask that complements what you are using. You've got an excellent machine.
You should post your equipment for further help--it can be done in the User Control Panel.

Hi, curious about your post. I use same machine but use a respironics comfortgel nasal mask. Should I check the settings or let things alone?scrapper wrote:Set your machine on Activa.......that is the ResMed nasal mask that complements what you are using. You've got an excellent machine.

Did you tech set the machine for your mask when you got it? What mask does your machine think you've got hooked to it?dtsm wrote:Hi, curious about your post. It's a long story but when tech came in, she gave me a nasal pillow from resmed and set up cpap for 9 with 30 minute ramp. After 3 days stopped machine and only resumed last week after 9 month hiatus.albill wrote:Did you tech set the machine for your mask when you got it? Went to sleep center, really great nurse/supervisor re-set to auto cpap based on doc's instructions, so now it starts at 4 and automatically adjusts when I sleep. She didn't touch anything else - as far as I know.
That's all I know. I can call nurse and ask.
