Just wanted to say "Hello" and "Thanks!"

Hi Everybody,
I have been visiting this forum since Mar 05 and finally decided to "join up". You folks have been soooo helpful without even knowing I was there. I've learned so much and have been encouraged to stick with it on more than one occasion!!! Thanks bunches for all the great info and encouragement that you share here. Sometimes I sit at the computer and just laugh out loud. I think this forum should be required reading for every sleep Dr, tech, and DME.
Got my CPAP in Aug 04 and am still trying to work out the kinks--leaks, pressure marks, aerophagia, etc. Most continues to get better. You folks have made it an easier journey. It's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing these things.
I was diagnosed about 2 years ago but am sure I've had OSA for many years--always tired, could sleep forever, and had dreams that I was drowning. Seems to run in my family--my 4 siblings and my Dad have it. Only 4 of us use CPAPS. My husband (who is a pastor) likes to say "You and your sister were born tired." He made a Tee shirt for me that says "I'm not a morning person and it goes downhill from there" By the way, we are very happily married and will celebrate our 25th anniversary Oct 4.
Sweet dreams to all,
Esther
Psalm 107:1 "O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good"
I am thankful for this forum.

Oops. Not sure what just happened but I was logged on when I posted the message, then it posted as "Guest".
Hope I can get the hang of this. My user name is Born Tired. I may need some help if it pops up as Guest again. I've never posted on any forum before.

Another welcome from moi

This place is precious - a gathering of folk who by & large have found ways to communicate & despite the rare 'ruction' come out smiling. Few open Internet forums are this good.

Cheers

Esther,

What great reading your first post was! I look forward to reading more from you since you've finally broken your silence. And it's so nice to know that you have been getting something out of what has been going on here. I'd like to think that others who remain silent in the background while the ones like me with the big mouths talk can get something out of what goes on here, too.

We already share something in common, which is I, too, am celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary on the 25th of this month AND my parents and my sister and her husband celebrate their anniversaries on October 4th, my parents celebrating their 52nd and my sister also celebrating her 25th. Very busy month for anniversaries.

I'm so glad you have joined us. Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome.
R&R, Hope everything is going well for you and yours in TX. Having lived the earlier part of my life in the Pensacola/Mobile area, I have been through a few hurricanes myself.

DSM, How many grandkids do you have? Haven't made it to that stage yet (although I'm way old enough ) I do look forward to the grandparent thing.

Lori, Congratulations Yes, I think Oct is a popular month for weddings. We have 3 anniversaries this week in our small church. It is especially nice to hear of those 50 years and above. My parents will celebrate their 57th in Nov., and my husband's folks missed their 50th by a few months when his Dad passed away 13 years ago. We've had great examples to follow. Sounds like you have too.

RG, Very glad that you think I'll fit in. That's nice to hear from an Old Pro like you.

Welcome Esther.

My current favorite is Psalm 4:8 "I will lie down in peace and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe." Seems appropriate for apneics.

Bill,
Thanks for the welcome. Great verse!. Since I don't always wake up feeling the greatest, I start my day with Ps. 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Helps me start off the day with a better attitude.

DSM,
Bet they keep you on your toes.
