Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
Hello! I didn't use my humidifier attachment for a few months. The air has become so dry that I decided to start using it again. For some reason, the "heating plate" is not working now. Any ideas?
Re: Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
I have my humidifer set at 2.5, and the plate never gets hot, just a little warm. Is the green light on? Are you using the pre-warming feature?
I suggest reviewing the diagrams in your user guide to make sure the cpap and docking station are connected correctly. There a little connector plug that you remove from your flow generator, and attach to the back of the docking station. And there should be a click into place when you connect the cpap to humidifier.
Hope this helps. If not, the humidifier is under warranty for 1 year, so contact the dealer you bought it from.

Thanks! Apparently, it is connected correctly; I guess I'll have to take it back.
Sigh! I live in a rural area and it is a big deal to go to the "big city".

Hi, dlc1701. If you haven't already, it may be a good idea to check the AutoSet II to see if it's actually recognizing that the humidifier is installed. To do that, get into the Clinical Menu by holding down the Right and Down buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds. Navigate (Left button selects Enter) to "Settings", then to either "CPAP Mode" or "Autoset Mode". Using the Down button, you'll eventually find "Humid". It should say "H3i" (even if you have the 4i) if it recognizes the attached humidifier. If it says "Off", then it doesn't know it's connected for some reason.
Just thought I'd mention that, in case it helps to narrow down where the problem may be. Also, you could try calling ResMed before you drive all those miles, to see if there's anyone there that could help you troubleshoot further. In North America, here's the contact info: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/html/co ... =contactus.

Re: Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
For what it is worth, my Resmed 4i humidifier recently died as well after a month or so of operation.

Re: Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
Thanks for the tip to get into the Clinician's menu. It was recognizing the humidifier so I started backing out of the menus. I accidentally (not sure what key sequence) saw that the screen said "humidifier warming". Just on a goof, I turned the humidifier back on. It started heating up! I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I couldn't have done it w/o you! Thank you so much! Hopefully, this will also help others out there!
Re: Resmed Auto Set II humidifier
Yay! that's great.

It's always nice to hear that someone was able to solve a problem! Now you won't have to make that long drive to the Big City and you'll have more comfortable therapy with humidified air!
